Upper Mustang trek is a popular destination for travelers, who would like to be very remote area and explores the ancient tibetan Monastery, more than thousand years of hundreds ruined cave and Himalayan mountain desert with local tribes domain with Tibetan society are the main attraction of this areas.  Upper Mustang region is located on the western Himalayan range and adjoining plateau of Tibetan border of the Nepal. Mustang is a rain shadow area and still has a Mustangi Raja (state king of the Mustang) only one state king of Nepal, fossils on the river bank another attraction for the travels.Every year in Upper Mustang Lo-Manthang they celiberate famous festival Tiji also another attraction for Tourist.

The Tiji festival is a three-day ritual known as "The chasing of the Demons" and it is centered around the Tiji myth. Tiji tells the story of a deity named Dorje Jono who must battle against his demon father to save the Kingdom of Mustang from destruction. The demon father wreaks havoc on Mustang by creating a water shortage which, in this extremely arid land, is the most precious life-sustaining resource. Dorje Jono eventually defeats the demon and banishes him from the land.

Upper Mustang trek start from the Pokhara a beautiful lake town of the western Nepal and crossing the Annapurna conservation area will get to Upper Mustang. Either fly to Jomsom or walk from the Beni will reach at entry point of upper Mustang called Kagbeni. We start our Upper Mustang trek through the Holy river bank of Kaligandaki and follow the up stream to get to Lo-Mangthang, which is capital of the upper Mustang. On Mustang trek you may have chance to explore the thousand years of old monastery, caves, local tribes and scenic beauties of the different landscapes. You will have a great chance to accomplish the blessing from the King and the royal palace during the visit. The trek to Lo-Manthang is through an almost tree-less barren landscape, a steep rocky trail up and down hill and panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks make your trek wonderfully.

The Home Ministry of Nepal announced the opening of the restricted areas in October 1991. There is also strict control in obtaining a special permit from the department of immigration to protect their tradition from outside influence as well as to protect their environment. The high desert region of the Tibetan influence, Kaligandaki, from the Tibetan border south to Kagbeni is generally referred to as "Upper Mustang" that has its own nominal king.

Program Itinerary (Short)

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel O/N Hotel. 
Day 02: Kathmandu full day sightseeing Kathmandu valley O/N Hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara, (5-6 hours) transfer to Hotel O/N Pokhara. 
Day 04: flight to Jomsom (2720m) & trek to Kagbeni (2800m) O/N Camp.(3-4 hours walk)
Restricted area: 
Day 05: Kagbeni - Tsaile (3050m) O/N Camp (5-6 hours walk) 
Day 06: Tsaile – Ghilling (3200m) (Via chungse Gompa) O/N Camp (6-7 hours)
Day 07: Ghilling - Dakmar (3500m) O/N Camp (5-6 hours walk) 
Day 08: Dakmar – Tsarang(3620m) (via Lo-Ghyakar Monastery) O/N Camp (5-6 hours) 
Day 09: Tsarang - Lo-Manthang (3720m) O/N Camp 
Day 10: Lo-Manthang Day hiking (Choksar, Chonup, Namgyal by hourse (upper restricted area) (Start Tiji Festival) 
Day 11: Lo-Manthang - Tiji Festival 
Day 12: Lo- Manthang - Tiji Festival Ends 
Day 13: Lo-manthang – Yara O/N Camp (5-6 hours) 
Day 14: Yara - Tange O/N Camp (5-6 hours)
Day 15: Tange - Tetang O/N Camp (6-7 hours) 
Day 16: Tetang - Muktinath O/N Camp (5-6 hours) 
Exit restricted area: 
Day 17: Muktinath - Jomsom Stay in Hotel (4-5 hours) 
Day 18: Jomsom - Pokhara (Day: Pokhara Sightseeing) 
Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu tranfer to Hotel 
Day 20: Final departure to your own destination.
